Rose-Eld Farms is a 440 cow dairy and grain farm with 1700 acres of cropland. Our operation is located about ten miles west of Fond du Lac, WI. Our original farm has been in our family for 125 years. Ownership is shared mainly by DuWayne & Adeline Belling and their daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Randy Julka.

Assist herd manager
Take care of maintaining a successful dairy operation and assist with cropping and harvesting activities.
job Responsibilities
Work and communicate with the farm/crops manager and herd manager on a daily basis to promote harmony and share ideas.
Assist herd manager in identifying sick or injured cows and administer medications as needed.
Keep accurate records of medication administered.
Working with the milking team to keep cattle calm and comfortable at all times.
Be able to move cattle to the milking parlor, clean stalls, and operate a skid steer.
Become acquainted with milking equipment and how to complete minor repairs as needed.
Assist with milking in the rare event of a temporary worker shortage such as illness.
Assist with moving animals from pen to pen and farm to farm.
Monitor and assist milking crews with maintaining clean and sanitary milking-related equipment.
Watch cattle for physical signs of disease or injury including feet and legs and inform the farm manager and provide preventative medical care as needed
Demonstrate a willingness to learn how to artificially inseminate cows if not already trained and be willing to help the AI Technician sort and find cows when necessary.
Learn to analyze feed rations and be responsible for loading and distributing feed to cows and heifers as needed.

Monitor the health of hutch calves and monitor the sanitation of buckets and pails to ensure protocols are always followed on a daily basis,

Operate any and all machinery and equipment in a safe and non-life threatening way.
Take responsibility for ensuring that an ample supply of feed, bedding and water are available to all animals at all times.
Ability to lift at least sixty pounds.
Ability to withstand noise, dust, odors, fumes, temperature and climate extremes.
Assist with planting and harvesting and adapt to new farm equipment technology.
Learn and acquire knowledge for performing at least minor repairs in the farm shop.
At all times, be honest, friendly to team members and visitors and maintain a healthy level of self-composure. Respect for others will be a requirement.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent
18+ years of age
Valid driver’s license and clean background check

Knowledge of Dairy Comp 305 and CowManager helpful.
Some animal science coursework
Ability and desire to expand and advance in dairy farming career
Desire to learn cow foot care techniques and treatments
Desire to learn and acquire at least basic welding skills

Starting salary package $50,000-$70,000 based on experience
